To say the night was magical is an understatement! We celebrated the fumé launch in high style, gathering old and new friends for a night of cannabis-infused comedic poetry. We transformed a cold industrial venue, located in the Frogtown District of downtown Los Angeles, into a welcoming urban oasis, where the rustling of bamboo trees was mixed with DJ-spun tunes and intoxicating clouds of fumé cannabis.
As guests arrived, they were guided to the fumé weed bar where they could hand-select strains to sample and pair with premium smoking accessories including hemp wicks and cherry wood smoke tips to enhance their smoking experience. The Herbal Chef, one of the industry’s most sought-after cannabis chefs, passed out delectable bites–both infused and non-infused–as guests meandered through the venue and mingled with other guests.
As an added enhancement, we invited our favorite brands who we love and who represent the best and brightest of cannabis. Each is contributing to the elevation of our category and we love how they show up in the world. Potli, a BIOPIC and woman-owned company, served Cannabis-Infused Shrimp Chips topped with caviar. Cann, an LGBTQ-owned business, refreshed guests with their social tonics. Emerald Sky edibles offered guests their all-natural gummies and peanut butter cups. GT’s served their new CannaBliss CBD-Infused Kombuchas. And Sessions Goods displayed their gorgeous smoking accessories, gifting each guest their own One-Hitter pipe.
Once everyone was having an elevated experience, our emcee Brooke Burgstahler of Budding Mind kicked off the cannabis-infused, comedic poetry stand-up competition between local LA comedians Weed & Grub, Sara Weinshenk, Adrienne Airhart, Charles Kelly, as well as Brooke herself. Adrienne, who graced us with an honest, yet comedic story about how weed came into her life, won the competition.
The party also featured a fundraising element for the Last Prisoner Project where guests wrote letters to those incarcerated for crimes related to cannabis. For each guest who attended, fumé donated to the cause. Our honored guests for the night included Eboni and Sean Worsley. Sean was imprisoned for bringing his legally prescribed, medical marijuana from his home state of Arizona into Alabama, where possession of any amount of marijuana for any reason can be considered a felony. We are so glad he has secured his freedom and that he and Eboni were able to celebrate with us.
